Following the successful launch of its inaugural 5 Year Old expression, Ardnahoe Distillery has launched a new expression: Ardnahoe Infinite Loch. The whisky is named for Loch Ardnahoe, which lies just west of the distillery. Nicknamed the ‘Infinite Loch’, nobody truly knows the extent of its depths.

Ardnahoe Infinite Loch is available for purchase on the Ardnahoe Distillery website for £55

The Making of Ardnahoe Infinite Loch

Ardnahoe Infinite Loch was matured in a combination of specially selected ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at 50% ABV with no coloring and no chill-filtration.

The resulting tasting notes are as follows:

“Sea-spray, Islay peat and dark chocolate on the nose. Menthol, fresh fruits and bonfire notes on the palate lead into a smoky, zesty finish.”

Ardnahoe Distillery

Ardnahoe Distillery is the realisation of Stewart Laing’s vision to bring a new distillery to Islay. With roots on the island dating back to his whisky studies in the 1960s, Stewart—alongside his sons Scott and Andrew—set out to create an Islay-style whisky true to tradition.

Following a split with his brother at Douglas Laing & Co., Stewart established Hunter Laing & Co. in 2013. Driven by Islay’s allure and whisky’s growing demand, he invested £8 million to build Ardnahoe, nestled just south of Bunnahabhain. In 2017, whisky legend Jim McEwan MBE joined as Master Distiller, bringing experience from Bowmore and Bruichladdich to shape Ardnahoe’s future.
