Pappy Raffle To Benefit Kentucky Non-Profit Battling Abuse, Human Trafficking

A chance to win six bottles of Pappy Van Winkle whiskey for a fundraising raffle helping a non-profit organization serving victims of abuse, rape and human trafficking swells a giver’s heart.

A chance to win six bottles of Pappy Van Winkle whiskey will bring bidders out, for sure. But knowing the fundraising raffle will help a non-profit organization serving victims of abuse, rape and human trafficking swells a giver’s heart.

Jillian Carden, executive director of Silverleaf Sexual Trauma Recovery Services, said in a prepared statement the agency serves eight counties in Kentucky (Hardin, LaRue, Breckinridge, Grayson, Meade, Marion, Nelson & Washington), and all the services they offer are free to victims and their families.

In 2020, Silverleaf served 1,074 unique victims and provided prevention education to more than 23,000 people.

“Our agency needs to expand to meet the demand of our community – and we have plans to build a new building on our Elizabethtown campus,” Carden said. “But, we need to raise money.”

That’s where the Pappy raffle comes in. Silverleaf is currently having a fundraiser to raffle off six bottles of Pappy Van Winkle … the winning ticket gets all 6 bottles!

The raffle runs until Nov. 30th and it features:

Old Rip Van Winkle (10-year); Van Winkle Special Reserve (12-year Lot “B”); Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye (13-year); Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve (15-year); Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve (20-year); and Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve (23-year) Bottle #L0965.

Specifically, the Pappy Holidays fundraiser will help fund a new Forensics Annex building at the nonprofit’s Elizabethtown campus. This new building will allow Silverleaf to expand forensic services for children and families who have experienced abuse, assault, and human trafficking. The annex will allow for simultaneous forensic interviews, space for post-interview consultations, and allow separation and additional privacy from those seeking therapy and other healing services.

The raffle is limited to 1,500 tickets. No purchase limits apply while supplies last. Participants must be 21-years-old and living in the United States to enter. The raffle winner will be chosen by random draw during a Facebook Live stream on Tuesday, Nov. 30th, at 12 p.m. (noon) EST.

Tickets are on sale now until the time of the drawing or until they sell out. Raffle tickets can be purchased on the agency’s website at silverleafky.org or the raffle page https://silverleafky.org/product/pappy-holidays-raffle-ticket-2021.
