New research recently conducted by money.co.uk analyzed the average cost of liquors owned by celebrities and compared that with their star ratings on Distiller.com, in order to find out the best bang for the buck.
The analysis showed that Conor McGregor’s Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey would be the best value celebrity whiskey while Drake’s Virginia Black American Whiskey would be the lowest value.
The money.co.uk analysis gave each price point and star rating its own indexable score out of 100 in order to rank them from best to least. McGregor’s Proper Twelve scored 67 out of 100 thanks to the average cost of $26 a bottle with a 3.3 out of 5 stars rating.

The second best value on the list goes to American country music singer Jason Aldean’s Wolf Moon Straight Bourbon Whisky, scoring 66.5 out of a possible 100 thanks to a 3.2 rating and an average cost of $26 a bottle.
Closely following on the list is a creation by American actors of The Vampire Diaries fame, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey. It scored 65 out of 100 making it the third-best value whiskey owned by celebrities.

In the low value side of the analysis, Drake’s Virginia Black American Whiskey costs $39 a bottle and has a below-average Distiller.com rating of 2.8 out of 5, giving the artist’s whiskey an overall score of 50. Scoring slightly better is Brett Ratner’s The Hilhaven Lodge Whiskey with an overall score of 52.5, followed by David Beckham’s Haig Club ‘Clubman’ Single Grain Scotch Whisky scoring 53 out of 100.
