Bardstown Bourbon Company Coming To Downtown Louisville

Kentucky’s Bardstown Bourbon Company said recently it is starting construction this month on a new bourbon experience on Louisville’s Whiskey Row.

Set to open in late summer of 2023, the new facility, it was noted in a statement from Bardstown, will provide unique bourbon educational experiences highlighting the bourbon maker’s blending, aging, and cocktails as well as a full-service bar and bottle shop.

Throughout the year, Bardstown Bourbon plans to host a variety of events including limited and rare bottle releases, intimate tastings and one-of-a-kind elevated experiences as well.

Mark Erwin, Bardstown Bourbon’s CEO, said, “We’re excited to bring this modern transparent approach to bourbon making to our Louisville home and look forward to introducing more consumers to the Bardstown Bourbon Company brand.”

“The new experience will feature education and deep dives that articulate our modern approach to blending, innovation and collaboration, capped by our genuine approach to hospitality,” said Dan Callaway, Bardstown’s VP of innovation and hospitality.

The design of the experience is being led by Joseph & Joseph Architects, a firm that has more than a hundred years of distillery heritage, credited with designing the original Four Roses distillery in 1909.

Willie Martin’s will also consult on the interior design including lighting, furniture and other design elements.

Buzick Construction will serve as contractor for the project. Bardstown Bourbon Co. has previously worked with both Joseph & Joseph and Buzick Construction on the Bardstown campus, including the current expansion, which upon completion will increase distillation capacity to more than 10 million proof gallons annually.

Founded in 2014 by Peter Loftin on 100 acres of active farmland, Bardstown Bourbon Company produces custom rye, whiskey and bourbon for brands including High West, Belle Meade, Hirsch and others through its collaborative distilling program.
