Booker’s Bourbon is one of those small batch bourbon offerings from Beam that, as I have said before, has a devout following. Now comes its latest release, a very limited edition silver anniversary offering pricing for around $100 that you’ll be extremely lucky to find, even with some 6,000 bottles floating around out there.In honor of the late 6th generation Beam master distiller, Booker Noe, Batch No. 2014-1, also known as Booker’s Bourbon 25th Anniversary, was created as a result of a collaboration between Booker’s son, Beam family’s 7th generation master distiller and 2013 Bourbon Hall of Fame Inductee, Fred Noe, and Booker’s grandson, Freddie Noe. The two selected barrels said to be aged longer than any Booker’s Bourbon batch to-date, ranging from 9 to 11 years, that were among the last that the senior Booker laid down in the rack house before he passed away.

Batch No. 2014-1 was said to be specifically taken from the center-cut of Booker’s favorite rack house, bottled at its natural proof, uncut, unfiltered and extra aged to bring out what’s described as “a robust vanilla nose and wide range of flavors — from oak tannin to mocha notes.”

This special bourbon comes in a commemorative wooden case and it is available in “select markets now,” with a more national rollout planned for March. From what I’ve been seeing online, this is definitely on the level of Pappy Van Winkle type hard to get, so if you can snag a bottle or two you are darn lucky indeed!
