The world of the Barton 1792 Distillery out of Kentucky, owned by Buffalo Trace parent company Sazerac, has of late been very focused on releasing one limited edition bourbon after another. Overtime we’ve seen offerings such as high rye, sweet wheat, single barrel and full proof variants come to market. Now we come to the seventh such release, a bottled in bond bottling.

The new 1792 Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, according to those behind it, is a non-age statement bourbon which fits the criteria of the Bottled in Bond act that was established in 1897. The distillery said of this release that it is well aged and came from barrels which were each filled during the same distilling season. It was ultimately bottled at precisely 100 proof.

Plans call for this release to be available starting next month for a price point of around $36. One batch of this Bottle-in-Bond Bourbon will be released each year, in the fall. You’ll find limited official tasting notes for it below from the distillery.

Tasting notes for this bourbon describe 1792’s unmistakable spice being met with “notes of charred oak and fresh mint. Subtle caramel apple tones are delicately balance with the lingering essence of coffee and black pepper.”
