Tasting Notes

About:

93 proof (46.5% ABV). Mash bill: 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Unfiltered. Aged a minimum of four years. Crafted in Memphis, Tennessee. MSRP $29.99.
Appearance:
Clear, with a medium intensity and a golden hue. Viscous in the tasting glass with slow forming legs that cling to the side.
Nose:
Ripe late summer fruits. Reminiscent of walking through a peach orchard right before harvest with notes of vanilla and light oak.
Palate:
Light rye spice and fruit forward. Lingering peach and apple crisp finish. Subtle wood undertones with a good balance.
Finish:
Comments:
This rye makes you hungry. Particularly, Bar B Cue. This would pair nicely with a summer cookout. Baby back ribs and buttered sweet corn. Save room for dessert, this would work well with that as well. Or, in a cocktail with a little kick to it such as a mule. And, at a nice price point for someone looking to explore rye whiskey.
