Mississippi River Distilling Company has been a busy bee of late with new whiskey releases, including the collaborative Four Kings rye as well as its own Farmer Brown made from the ale wash of a local distillery. What it has on its hands now is the fourth iteration of a popular honey whiskey.

READ THE STORYQueen Bee Honey Whiskey, according to the distillery, combines a sweeter barrel of its Cody Road bourbon with nearly 60 gallons of locally sourced, farm fresh honey. The honey was combined with some water and boiled in small amounts to produce a “clear honey solution.” It was then added to the whiskey and the two sat in a combined fashion for a few days before being filtered to produce the final product which found its way into around 5,000 bottles.
What’s been produced is described as “a fabulously delicious treat that is tasty enough to sip on the rocks and dangerously good with lemonade or other summertime cocktails.” It is available at retail now through a few online locations, pricing between $16 and $20 for a 375 ml bottle.
