The Knob Creek brand of American whiskeys is a well regarded brand amongst the various labels in the Beam-Suntory line up. Those behind it now believe a cask strength bottling is the next ground to cover, having just released a limited edition offering in this vein.
The new Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye Whiskey, according to those behind it, is nine year old Knob Creek rye that’s been aged in Warehouse A, said to be the oldest standing rackhouse at the Beam distillery. It is bottled at a hearty 119.6 proof, quite a step up from the more general 100 proof offering.
Plans call for this cask strength rye whiskey to be made available nationwide for around $70 for a 750 ml bottle, and you’ll find official tasting notes for this golden amber colored whiskey below for your consideration. It should be noted as well Cask Strength Rye follows on the heels of Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey, an extension of a single barrel selection program that offers retail customers the opportunity to select and purchase their own barrel of Knob Creek rye whiskey, bottled at 115 proof and aged between five and six-and-a-half years.
