Located on Scotland’s east coast, situated on the shores of Sandend Bay near the village of Portsoy, the Glenglassaugh Distillery was revived in 2008. Launched in 2023, the Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old is the distillery’s flagship expression.
Brown-Forman has confirmed Glenglassaugh Distillery will operate under a shared production model with BenRiach, involving alternating production periods rather than permanent closure. The move comes as part of broader operational efficiency measures.
A social media post from a Glenglassaugh distillery production operator indicates the historic Highland facility is preparing for a temporary closure. Parent company Brown-Forman has been contacted for official confirmation of the reported production pause.
