Are You Ready For The Kentucky Bourbon Affair 2015?

The Kentucky Bourbon Affair is fast-approaching on June 3-7 2015.  If you would like to attend this year, there are still plenty of events that haven’t sold out.  Golden Tickets go on sale for $1500 months in advance and sell out in a matter of days, so you’ll want to get on the mailing list for those next year if that’s of interest to you.  Golden Tickets include all kinds of perks, such as transportation from your hotel and VIP access to events.  If the price tag is too steep and you still want to participate, there are over 3 dozen events across 5 days from which you can choose.

To attend The Kentucky Bourbon Affair this year, check out the schedule page on their website and buy tickets to the individual events you’d like to attend.  There are still multiple events for this year that haven’t yet sold out.  If you’d like to visit bourbon country during a special event, I’d recommend picking 1 or 2 events and then planning other bourbon tourism activities for your trip.  This will give you an opportunity to participate without making your first trek to bourbon country overwhelming.

If you want to do it up right, start planning to attend next year.  Start with a stamina-boosting workout routine, because you’re going to need it to keep pace.  If you do spring for a Golden Ticket, you’re going to be leaving your hotel at 8 am daily and returning near midnight.  The exhaustion is real, but the fun you’ll have will make it all worthwhile.

Golden Tickets give you first access to any of the events you’d like to attend.  If there’s something you really want to do that is sold out this year, chances are it will sell out quickly next year.  Some of the events sold out within minutes of being posted this year.

The Kentucky Bourbon Affair folks add new events for several weeks after the Golden Tickets have sold out.   If you’re not going to purchase a Golden Ticket, you’ll want to follow them on social media to learn when event tickets go on sale.  I suggest making a spreadsheet of activities to keep track of which time slots you have open.  This will help you maximize your ala carte experience.
