Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey A $$$$ Party

Michters-Celebration-Sour-Mash-Photo-Bottle-Outside-Closed-Box-For-Webs...How much would you be willing to spend on a good bourbon? $40? $80? Maybe a couple hundred for a collector’s edition? What about between $3,000 and $4,000? That’s what you’ll have to drop if you want to own one or more of the 273 bottles of Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey.

Micther’s Distillery out of Louisville, Kentucky is the mastermind behind this most expensive and limited of bourbons. The price tag set by this distillery is something more in line with collector Scotchs, and even then that’s pushing it. The question is – what do you get for this hefty price tag? Well,

Master Distiller Willie Pratt hand selected sour mash whiskey from his favorite over 30 year old barrels, his favorite over 20 year old barrels and some other exceptional barrels, and he blended them.

So what you end up with is a blended bourbon? Interesting. Worth the first year of your kid’s college fund? Hard to say. You can at least take pride in the styling of this package, which consists of 18 karat gold labeling screened onto a bottle that’s enclosed in “an elegant gift box.”
