Booker’s Bourbon Maw Maw’s Batch Pops Up

Booker's Maw Maw's BatchThe steady pace of limited edition Booker’s Bourbon releases for 2015 continues unabated this week with the word of the fifth batch of the year. Dubbed Maw Maw’s Batch, it is named after the whiskey’s namesake Booker Noe’s grandmother.

As the story goes – and you know pretty much all bourbon out of Kentucky has a story – Booker Noe, after living with his grandmother in Bardstown during high school, took up residency next door to her when he returned from college. It was “while living next door that Booker created the iconic recipe that his namesake bourbon is known for today,” according to notes accompanying this release.

Booker’s Bourbon Batch 2015-5 “Maw Maw’s Batch” was bottled at 128 proof after aging in barrels for six years and seven months. It, like other batches before it, is uncut and unfiltered. Official tasting notes for it are below.

The aroma for this batch is rich with hints of vanilla and toasted nuts, and the taste is well balanced with a warmth which moves to a clean, long finish.
