New Anthrax Bourbon Is Second Whiskey Tied To Band

Anthrax The Devil You Know bourbonLegendary thrash metal band Anthrax made a few waves in the whiskey world last year when it tied its brand name to a bourbon release called Indians. This single barrel offering, heralding from Jefferson’s Bourbon, looks to have been popular enough to bring the rockers back to bourbon land, this time with a new bottling from Knob Creek.

Known as The Devil You Know this new release, much like Indians, is associated with a song from one of Anthrax’s albums. In this case it is the tenth studio album Worship Music, released in September of 2011. The bourbon itself is a little older then the music it is named after, being a nine year old single barrel selection.

The Devil You Know Anthrax bourbon, bottled at 120 proof, was chosen by the band during taste testing. A total of two barrels were chosen, and what’s now available at retail over at Atlantic City Bottle Company prices for $59 and comes with “a card personally autographed by the band.” This shop, by the way, also handled sales of the Indian release, which priced for $100.

“If we find something we really like and that we actually drink ourselves, we think maybe our fans might like it too, so we want to make it available for them,” said Anthrax’s Scott Ian in a statement. “We really enjoyed ‘Indians,’ the bourbon we produced last year, and obviously our fans did as well as it sold out really quickly.”
