Kilchoman Distillery Debuts 10th Anniversary Scotch Whisky

The Kilchoman distillery on Scotland’s mystical whisky isle of Islay is currently the youngest Scotch making operation there. It is celebrating its 10th anniversary year in fact right now, and has dropped word of a very limited edition bottling being made available to mark the occasion.

The Kilchoman 10th Anniversary Release, according to the distillery, is being made available only onsite starting this weekend. Hand numbered and limited to just 3,000 bottles, what you’ve got here is a single malt mix of sherry and bourbon cask aged Scotches from 2005-2012. It happens to include in the mix whisky from cask number 01/2005, said to be “the first cask ever filled at Kilchoman.”

This special birthday whisky is bottled at a cask strength of 58.2% ABV and will price for around £89 ($140 USD). If you happen be on Islay this weekend it might be worth swinging by the distillery to grab this, what will likely be collector’s item, Scotch.

Cask Fraud Addressed in Scottish Parliament

The potential impacts of cask investment fraud on the scotch whisky industry was discussed in the Scottish Parliament in April 2024, hopefully paving the way for more regulation within the industry.
